Food Quality Agreement

Before listing your donation, please make sure you have read our food quality agreement below.

Food Quality Conditions for Donations

  1. Expiration and Freshness

    • Food must not be expired. Please check the expiration date and donate only items that are still within their shelf life.

    • Donated food should not be spoiled or damaged in any way.

  2. Packaging and Seals

    • Items may be opened, but they must still be sealed properly. No items should be leaking or improperly sealed.

    • Cans or bottles must be intact, without dents, rust, or cracks that could compromise their safety.

  3. Contamination-Free

    • Donated food must be free from any signs of contamination, such as mold, pests, or foreign substances.

    • Items should not have been exposed to unsafe handling or storage conditions.

  4. Storage and Handling

    • Food must have been stored in appropriate conditions (i.e., dry, cool, and in accordance with food safety guidelines).

    • Perishable items (like dairy, meats, or produce) must be kept refrigerated or frozen until donation.

  5. Non-Expired Prepared Food

    • For prepared food donations, items should be freshly made, unexpired, and free from contamination.

    • Properly packaged in sealed, tamper-evident containers (e.g., plastic containers, foil-wrapped, etc.).

  6. Non-Perishable Foods

    • Canned goods, dry grains, pasta, rice, cereals, and other shelf-stable items must be sealed and free from damage or contamination.

  7. Special Considerations

    • Donations must be from non-perishable, commercially packaged items (i.e., not homemade unless under specific donation programs).

    • Gluten-free, allergen-free, and dietary-specific foods are welcome but must meet the same quality standards.
